Venturing is the high-adventure part of scouting.  Many boys start in Cub Scouts, then join Boy Scouts (when they are 11 years old or 10 years old and have completed their arrow of light), and finally join a Venture Crew when they are old enough.  There are several Venture Crews in Durham: look at https://sites.google.com/site/mawatdistrictbsa/scouting-units .
